Most of the Spanish classes and Spanish courses that I took in order to learn Spanish only confused me even more
Concerning the usage of gustar. Gustar means to be pleasing to or to find pleasant. But in many cases, Spanish
speakers use it the exact same way that we use the verb to like.
That verb was gustar if theres one verb that gave a lot to me of trouble when I first started learning Spanish grammar.

In regards to the usage of gustar. Gustar means to be attractive to or even to find satisfying. In many cases, Spanish
speakers use it exactly the same way that we use the verb to like.
For example, in Spanish you dont literally say:
I love your dog.
In Spanish you would say:
Me gusta el perro.
That actually means your dog is pleasing to me.
Actually, it indicates it pleases me canine.
It could appear odd to your English-hearing ears. But you will get
used to it. It is tryed by lets.
I love your house.
Me gusta manhunter casa.
I dont just like the car.
No me gusta el carro.
You prefer the table.
Te gusta la mesa.
He likes the screen/monitor.
Le gusta la pantalla.
We like the bridge.
Nos gusta el puente.
They want to rest.
Les gusta mentir.
Several changes have, If you prefer to say I prefer the dogs
to take place. Is it possible to guess what those changes are?
Obviously dog (perro) must now become plural (perros).
However the article (el) must also become plural (los).
And the verb should differ from third person singular (gusta) to
third person plural (gustan).
Lets take to it:
The dogs are liked by me.
Me gustan los perros.
You want the seas
Te gustan los lagos.
The streams are liked by her
Le gustan los arroyos.
We just like the streams.
Nos gustan los ros.
The waterfalls are liked by them.
Les gustan las cataratas.
The following is the approach that we increase clarity or importance, or mention the name of the individual
or people that the item is pleasing to.
A Carlos le gusta nadar.
Carlos wants to swim.
A m me gusta la playa.
I love the beach.
A ti te gusta manhattan project orilla del mar.
You want the seashore.
The forest is liked by the boys.
A los chicos les gusta el bosque.
The pool is liked by them.
A ellos les gusta la piscina.
There are many verbs in Spanish that follow exactly the same design since the verb gustar.
Listed below are just a few.
Importar (to be important to)
Interesar (to be interesting to)
Faltar (to be lacking to)
Molestar (to bother or to irritate remember that this word does not mean to molest)
Encantar (to like)
I have been confused about when to utilize gustar. Despite what the books say,
you may use gustar to suggest that you like someone as in being physically appealing to someone.
For instance,
T me gustas.
I like you.
Me gusta Carmen.
I love Carmen.
But if you desire to say that you like someone as in I go along well with (name),
theres a different solution to say it.
Me cae bien Carmen.
I like Carmen or I get along well with Carmen. Literally, it means Carmen falls well on me.
No me cae bien Mara.
I dont like Mara or I dont go along well with Mara.
No me caes bien t, Or, T no me caes bien.
I dont get along well with you.
Lets do a few exercises with gustar. Read the following sentences adding emphasis on anyone or persons that the thing is desirable to. The answers appear below.
1. The cats are liked by me.
2. You prefer the marriage. (Add emphasis for you utilising the familiar type of you.)
3. Joseph loves the building.
4. The shirts are liked by us.
5. The insects are liked by all of you. (Add emphasis to all of you)
