WHY COPPER?
Copper is among the oldest metals ever, discovered 10,000 in years past and used being a rare metal by ancient civilizations. The discovery of copper introduced the Chalcolithic Age or Copper Age, in which civilizations transitioned from using stone to metals to create tools. Initially used for coinage and ornament through the earliest civilizations, throughout time copper has been utilized extensively because of its versatility and other properties inside the fields of architecture, technology, industrial design, etc. Copper features a unique interaction using its environment. Copper develops a patina the industry tarnish that forms on the surface with the material as time passes. Patinas offer an extra protective layer to copper plus a unique aesthetic. The interaction with the user and the different environments can provide an original patina which will reflect your journey of these unique conditions.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Real FX Digital is going to be launching the Coop on Monday, June 24th on Kickstarter. We'll be offering 100 Coops on the early bird at $39, the normal price is going to be $49. The campaign will run until Monday, July 29th. To date we now have designed and produced prototypes of the Coop so we wish to go into production. When the project is successfully funded, we would be able to make the metal injection molds required for manufacturing.
