I dabbled with yoga on and off for a number of years. I knew it was good for me, yet it was hard for me to obtain used to the idea that by putting myself into pretzel-like positions that could enhance my fitness. But then I had my epiphany. It began while I was training for a marathon. I observed that my left leg would start to lose feeling about three miles into a run. I went to 3 various physicians: the best guidance any of them could give me was to not run more than three miles. That was undesirable, to say the least. So, I just began doing yoga a couple of minutes every day, and slowly worked up to 30 to 45 minute sessions a few times a week in addition to my running. Not only did my leg improve, but on race day I ran a Personal Record! Since then, yoga and I have been friends. My only problem, nevertheless, was the yoga mats.
