The new Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth Smart is the world's first ever Bluetooth Smart foot pod for measuring speed, distance and cadence running for any Bluetooth Smart compatible device according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.

"This is a first", says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "What this does is bridge the gap for all run data between the Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth Smart and any Bluetooth Smart compatible device that has an app and this is the direction everything is headed".

GET IT AND GO

"For running this new Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth Smart and your Bluetooth Smart compatible watch or Smartphone loaded with an app that is Bluetooth Smart and you are good to go", says Squire. He adds, "This is a brave new world where devices like the new Garmin Edge 510 can instant upload so expect Bluetooth Smart to dominate the future of sensors and devices as ANT+ quickly gets eliminated".

THE NEXT WAVE

Sensors and devices are all starting to make the move to Bluetooth Smart. "Cycling is still somewhat entrenched in ANT+ but that will change over time as runners, triathletes and others begin to move to the new standard," says Squire. He adds, "The big deal with Bluetooth Smart is that it uses less energy and all the smartphone manufacturers are moving toward it and what this opens up is real-time access to data moved over a network".

The Polar H7 heart rate monitor was Polar's first entry into Bluetooth Smart and has proven successful as a device for iPhone 5 and 4S.

The Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth Smart is priced $50 below Polar's standard S3+ stride sensor at $79.95 meaning that it will have broader market appeal according to Squire.

RUNNING WITH A SMARTPHONE

"The big deal about running with a Smartphone is where do you put it because it is not like a watch that fits on your wrist", says Squire. He adds, "The best solutions are armbands or waist belts but visibility while exercising can be challenging so simply recording data for later purview is often the methodology"

The new Polar RC3 Tour de France Limited edition for the 100th Anniversary of the Tour de France is now available at the Heart Rate Watch Company.

"The Polar RC3 is the first-ever integrated GPS watch for cycling and running from Polar and these 100th Anniversary Tour de France editions look super cool", says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "This version has altitude and is one of the best looking Polar watches we have ever seen, but it is only here for a few short months and its gone".

Real professional athletes use Polar

Athletes like Tour de California winner Michael Rasmussen, Renae Taaramae of Cofidis and lots of others in the pro peloton rely upon Polar for their heart rate data. There are a lot of companies that can't make this claim because they sell a product but don't become adopted by those at the highest level of sport. For Heart Rate Watch Company this is an "acid test" for quality.

"We appreciate the fact that company's like Polar conduct athlete testing and provide top-level athletes with product to acquire feedback", says Squire. He adds, "Polar has always led the way with pro teams and in human performance testing and this is why they make great products".

Three versions

The Polar RC3 Tour de France comes in three versions. The first version is simply the watch with no chest strap and transmitter for those who have a prior Polar transmitter. The second version is the watch with the transmitter and the third version includes a cadence sensor for cycling.

The new Polar RC3 Tour de France 100th anniversary official training computer is available now at the Heart Rate Watch Company.
