Nominated for 30 Emmys, including seven for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Set, Star Trek: Voyager remains the rich tradition of the initial 1960s Star Trek franchise. Created by former L.A. Officer Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed right into a team famous for the unprecedented fanatical loyalty of its fan base. Long-term only three times all through its original community run, gold was struck by Star Trek with its syndicated reruns, introducing several motion pictures featuring the books as well as original cast, witty books, memorabilia, and tons of Star Trek-related memorabilia. As the series progressed the third spin-off from the first Star Trek series, Star Trek: Voyager premiered in January 1995 to simple critical acclaim, but experienced great success with television viewers, gradually raising its scores. Following on the heels of Star Trek: Another Generation (1987) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), the line precedes Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) while offering an all-star cast that includes seasoned actor Kate Mulgrew (whose past TV appearances include such displays as Dallas, Cheers, and Murphy Brown). Yet in place of pursuing the classic Star Trek mission to "boldly go where no-one has gone before," Star Trek: Voyager is more about where the staff has been before going

Star Trek: Voyager follows the exploits of the crew aboard the starship 2 Voyager. While the line starts, the Voyager is on a Federation mission to recapture a rogue ship of Maquis rebels (a race first presented in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). While in search of the Maquis, the Voyager enters a system known as the badlands, and both ships are promptly transported to the Delta Quadrant over seventy-thousand light years away on the outskirts of the universe. Quickly, both the Maquis and the crew of Voyager understand they certainly were brought to Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker, a strange force overseeing the security of the Ocampan race who reside in the shadow on an imminent threat from the horrible Kazon. The Voyager crew combines with the Maquis crew to protect themselves from the Kazon, when the Kazon eliminate the Maquis ship. Having destroyed the device which could bring them home, the crew of the Voyager - light emitting diode by Capt. Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), and the crew of the Maquis ship - light emitting diode by Commander Chakotay (Robert Beltran), should act as a united front so that you can meet their common goal of getting a way home

The Star Trek: Voyager DVD includes a number of exciting episodes including the series premiere "Caretaker" in which the Federation starship Wasp Voyager, led by Capt. Kathryn Janeway, is unexpectedly carried 70,000 light years away while using a band of Maquis rebels via an region called the badlands. The Voyager's new destination is the Delta Quadrant, an uncharted region of the galaxy supervised by the Caretaker and threatened by the colonial hostility of the Kazon Other notable attacks from Season 1 include "The Cloud" in which the Voyager inadvertently hurts an life form while searching for a component to raise its energy source, and "Learning Curve" in which people of Commander Chakotay's ragtag Maquis crew get a Starfleet Academy training on how best to work correctly aboard the Voyager
