There was a period when Terrigal and the Central Coast region of New South Wales was a sleepy country area of the condition that simply came to life briefly over-the summer holiday season. Then the F3 Freeway from Sydney was completed in 1987. Since then, Terrigal and the rest of the Central Coast has become a favorite holiday for Sydneysiders all year 'round.

While Terrigal has never been a populous suburb, it has always been thought of as the Central Coast's most upscale community. The establishment of this large, upscale resort changed the surface of the village, leading to the establishment of several trendy boutiques, gourmet restaurants as well as other businesses. Nevertheless, they never pushed the older institutions out-of town and you may nonetheless enjoy bass and chips from a pavement cafe or buy your surfing equipment from a surf shop that's been established for 20 years or more.

Central Coast - The truth that Terrigal, while certainly an upscale community, retains many of its older, more modest establishments is one among its charms. It's a location where you could feel comfortable in a pair of a tee top, board shorts and flip flop sandals, even while you're experiencing a gourmet brunch outside an alfresco restaurant. While you sip a cappuccino, just across the road, surfers will be checking out the waves out at the Haven, families will probably be frolicking in the waves in front of the Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club under the watchful attention of the guards and "Mums and Dads" will probably be waiting for a large serving of fish and chips wrapped in papers to defeat to the beach for lunch.

One other wonderful thing about Terrigal is the fact, unlike so many city beaches, you don't even have to be in your car and drive-in order to find a quiet expanse of shore to unwind. Basically walk up the seashore towards Wamberal and before you know it, you come in a different world; the planet the residents appreciate. There appears to become a bewitching dividing point between Terrigal and its predominantly residential neighbour: cross that line and you may actually feel the difference.

Its central location and many comforts makes a best place to Terrigal to get your residence while you're vacationing in the Central Coast. From there, it is possible to reach the additional Central Coast communities, each of which has its distinctive atmosphere. For example, Avoca Beach, just south of Terrigal, is among Australia's most famous surfing towns. Like Terrigal, Avoca has become busier over the years, but, also like Terrigal, it has a sanctuary of peace within easy walking distance at North Avoca.

Traveling in the other direction, you reached the Entrance. The Entry, a bigger community, has a distinctly different atmosphere and is mostly a family group destination.

Although Terrigal has an upmarket reputation, staying at an upmarket spa like Crowne Plaza isn't a condition. In the same way you could select from a fish and chip feed for the entire family or an intimate romantic dinner for two, you get your choice of Terrigal accommodations.
