The Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire GPS watch has been the hardest sports fitness watch to obtain for 2013 but the Heart Rate Watch Company still has a few available for July 1 delivery according to company spokesperson Rusty Squire.

"The Ambit 2 Sapphire took the market by storm and we were trying to understand why, so we researched Sapphire crystals," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "They are virtually indestructible and the only harder substances in the world are diamonds or silicate carbide."

SOLVING THE GPS WATCH DURABILITY DILEMMA

"Most fitness GPS watches have plastic, or in some cases, mineral crystals but the problem is they scratch," says Squire. He adds, "The Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire is built bomb proof, so other than occasional watch band, or lithium-ion battery, replacement it is the type of watch that should last a decade."

NAVIGATION, WEATHER, and FULL SPORTS FUNCTIONALITY

The Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire offers much more than just durability delivering track back, on-screen navigation, a barometric altimeter, swimming features and a memory that can run 5 apps concurrently according to Squire. "The key with this watch is that it offers the best sports features, best navigation features, weather and more, all in the world's toughest package," says Squire.

DRESS WATCH GOOD LOOKS WITH FULL GPS FUNCTION

The issue with most GPS sport watches is that they don't look like watches you would use for anything besides a workout. "Not so with the Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire," says Squire. He adds, "This is the single nicest looking http://www.heartratewatchcompany.com GPS sports watch] we have ever seen because it can pull off a tuxedo just as easily as it could pull off Mount Everest."

Of course the Suunto Ambit 2 is virtually the same watch minus the Sapphire crystal and fancier bezel for $100 less according to Squire.
