Constipation is extremely common in pregnancy. It is brought on by decreased bowel motility secondary to elevated progesterone (normal in pregnancy), which can lead to greater consumption of water.

I'd twice also. The first happened in the first month. It absolutely was awful. The 2nd one triggered my first bleeding in the 13th week of pregnancy. For that reason, I pay great attention to not have constipation again. And up to now I remain very regular.

The below tips are from my personal experience:

1. Eat more veggies and fruits daily. Greens include spinach, cabbage, broccoli and other dark green leafy greens. Fruits include pears, oranges, pears, berries and grapefruits. Bananas will also be good, but only eat them occasionally.

2. Eat more substance food such as for instance soup. Soup contains around, or even more, nutrition than regular food and is straightforward to digest. Plus, soup provides more substance to the body. For instance, instead of eating double cooked potatoes, I make roasted red pepper, leek, and potato cream soup or potato soup with mushrooms and marjoram. In place of eating roasted chicken, I make cream of chicken soup, chicken noodle soup or tortilla soup with shredded chicken.

3. Drink a lot of water. Drink 6-8 glasses of water everyday. Often a cup of orange juice or vegetable juice is helpful also. Limit caffeinated drinks such as for instance coffee, tea and soda to only 1-2 cups each day. Limit the caffeine intake to less than 300 mg of caffeine the equivalent of four glasses of coffee daily. I virtually just avoid them and only drink water, milk, good fresh fruit juice and vegetable juice.

4. Do exercise once a little while. A quick 15-30-minute slow walking twice per week helps the bowel movement. But avoid any vigorous exercise which will be not encouraged by your practitioner.
