H pylori can cause serious and debilitating symptoms, or very slight symptoms, with respect to the individual who has the bacteria and the strain of bacteria involved. Not everybody is affected similarly. Typical symptoms include general malaise, weakness, feeling problems along with widely recognized digestive symptoms like heartburn, reflux (GERD), bloating, sickness, vomiting and bad breath.

H pylori diet - Doctors usually prescribe antacid medications or laxatives for these symptoms; sometimes they will have the experience to operate testing for H pylori and other intestinal attacks. If H pylori is available double therapy antibiotics are normally recommended to destroy the H pylori. This form of treatment has recently been shown to be only 50-70 percent successful, however.

Even when H pylori has been confirmed as having been expunged, a patient's symptoms frequently remain. That confuses patient and doctor alike. Diet is rarely considered in these conditions, in actual fact, common foods which are eaten on a daily basis by many people may cause just the same symptoms while the Helicobacter itself.

Food number 1 - Gluten

Gluten (more precisely, gliadin) is a protein molecule that is found in the barley, wheat, rye and spelt. All foods that contain these grains have gluten included (e.g. bread, rice, cakes, biscuits, cereals, pizza). Lots of people are gluten-intolerant and in my own experience gluten may be the number one problem food. Gluten causes irritation in the little intestine, much like H pylori. In many cases, simply removing the gluten can significantly reduce symptoms. Often people can't eradicate H pylori until they have been on a gluten-free diet for at least 60-days.

Food number 2 - Coffee

Coffee is loved by me, but unfortunately in virtually any form coffee can be an irritant to the digestive system. Many people report having heartburn, reflux and other digestive symptoms once they drink coffee. If H pylori bacteria are present It is better to reduce coffee use.

Food number 3 - Soy

Soy foods have in recent times been recommended to be healthy and, in some cases, miracle foods. But these records is not even close to the reality. Actually, soy is not a wholesome food for most of us. Even yet in Japan it's the number one allergy creating food. It can have an immediate impact on the digestive system and cause similar symptoms to H pylori (it causes me to have wind, bloating and loose stools). Once they eliminate soy in most kinds significant improvements are experienced by many people. Many foods, including cow's milk and vegetable oils, should also be prevented if H pylori is recognized. A whole set of these ingredients along with the correct diet and herbal protocol for H pylori individuals comes in the H Pylori Diet ebook and paperback.
